MARXISM IN INDIAN SAUCE

A party office is a self-representation where the party’s identity is on show, its way of being a community and how it sees itself in relation with its electors. Gitartha Goswami has been photographing the offices of the political parties, from local ones to those of national importance, in Kolkata, in West Bengal.
Kolkata’s political battleground contains both the bigger parties (BJP, Congress, TMC) and many smaller ones (CPI(M-L), RSP, Forward Bloc…). Every one of these political parties has its offices in almost every locality of the city, from where they can control all the political activities of that region. This is a series of photographs of various political party offices in Kolkata.
